If you plan to use a computer that already has Excel installed, you will need to check your version before starting.
To check your version:
• In Excel, click on the “File” menu.
• Choose “About Microsoft Excel.”
• If you have Excel 2019 for Mac, the pop-up window will display 2019, as shown in Figure 1.1. You’ll need to make sure you are using Excel 365 instead of Excel 2019.
• If you have Office 365, the Account page will display 365, as shown in Figure 1.2.
Downloading Office 365 To download a free copy of Office 365, contact your school.
In most instances, the course images, videos, and information for Excel 2019 will match Excel 365. In instances where there are major differences between the two versions, resources are available to help you navigate the task within the Excel 365 format.

Upgrading Office Version If you have a version of Microsoft Office that was not downloaded and installed through your school's Microsoft Office 365 subscription, you will want to do so to ensure you have the most up-to-date and best-supported version of Microsoft Office. You can download your free copy of Office 365 by contacting your school.
Microsoft documentation indicates a download size of 3GB–4GB. Depending on your internet connection speed, this could take some time.

Microsoft’s Office Setup program should remove older versions of Office automatically. If this does not happen, you may need to uninstall the older version of Office manually by following the steps found on Microsoft’s website.
