Due to recent Microsoft updates, the macros of the MyEducator Excel assignments may be flagged as malware by software such as Windows Defender. We assure you that there are no viruses on our files. In order to get the downloads to work properly, you may have to change some settings before downloading the files in Windows Defender. Here are the steps for Windows Defender:

  1. Open Windows Defender Settings
  2. Click on "Virus and threat protection"
  3. Click on "Virus and threat protection settings"
  4. Turn off "Real-time protection"

This will turn off the Real-time protection setting for a short amount of time, allowing you to download the file as normal.

Turning off this setting will not be permanent--it will automatically turn back on after a short amount of time. Your computer should be safe if you turn this off and only download a MyEducator Excel assignment while it is turned off.

If you are using anti-virus software other than Windows Defender that is blocking the download, you may need to contact the antivirus software company or search for instructions on how to change the settings for the specific software.

We are working on getting this issue resolved soon and will notify you on MyEducator when this has been completely resolved.
