This article explains how to copy the contents of your MyEducator-integrated Canvas course (including the MyEducator CanvasConnect external tool app and link, MyEducator reading links, and MyEducator assessments) to a new Canvas course, and then how to connect a copy of the same MyEducator resource to it.

To be able to complete this process, you must have a Canvas course which has previously been integrated with the MyEducator CanvasConnect external tool app and link. To verify you have integrated MyEducator with one of your Canvas courses using the CanvasConnect style of integration, refer to this article.

1. Navigate to your Canvas Dashboard page.

2. Locate the course you want to copy content from and also the course you want to copy content to. Make a note of the name of the course you will be copying content from. If you or your Canvas administrator have not yet created a course to copy content to, please do so now.

3. Navigate into the course you would like to copy content to.

4. Click the Settings course navigation link.

5. Locate and select the Import Course Content option.

6. You will land on the following page.

7. Select “Copy a Canvas Course” from the Content Type drop-down menu.

8. Type the name of the course you want to copy content from into the Search for a course text bar. As you start typing, the text bar will present options based on what you typed.

9. For the Content options, select “All content”.

(Additionally, you can select the “Adjust events and due dates” option as well, if desired.)

10. Click the Import button.

11. Wait for the process to queue, run, and complete.

12. Navigate to the course Assignments page and Modules page to verify that the MyEducator CanvasConnect external tool link has been copied over, along with any expected MyEducator reading links and assessments.

At this point, the MyEducator CanvasConnect external tool link should work when clicked, but the assessment and reading links will not work until you have connected a new copy of the old MyEducator resource to this new Canvas course.

13. Click the “MyEducator CanvasConnect” module sub-item link.

14. Click the Load MyEducator CanvasConnect in a new window button.

15. Select the resource(s) you used in the old Canvas course. It will be copied and connected to the new Canvas course. Click the Create Connection button.

Note: Contact your sales representative or support@myeducator.com if you have any issues with this step.

16. This process may take a few minutes!

17. Verify that the expected resource shows up on the Current Connections page. To connect another resource, click the New Connection button and repeat step fifteen.

You have successfully copied the contents of your MyEducator-integrated Canvas course to a new Canvas course and connected a new copy of the old MyEducator resource to it! For any assistance, contact support@myeducator.com.
