To navigate to the course "settings" page in MyEducator, click Manage > Settings. You will be directed to a page that looks like this:

There are many options available in course settings...

1. Editable Course Title.

2. Select your University/Organization from the dropdown list.

3. Write a Course Description. This will appear when students are signing up for the course.

4. Adjust the status. (Instructors can always see the courses they are part of.)

  • Unpublished: Students cannot see the course.
  • Published: Open and available for purchase.
  • Archived: Course is viewable only for students who purchased before the course was archived. New users cannot sign up for an "Archived" course.

5. Student ID Message. The student ID message is an optional field where instructors can write a prompt that students will see as they are signing up for the course.

*For example, an instructor may type, "Please use your S-Number for your School ID, NOT the ID from your ID card."

6. Student ID Pattern. This is an optional field that allows an instructor to set a Regular Expression pattern that will further restrict the student ID Format that students can use when signing up.

7. Learning Management System (LMS). If you see the LMS your organization uses, click the button to sync scores and other course features.

*Integrations with other LMS systems are being developed all the time.

8. LMS grace period. This allows you to set a due date in MyEducator, but not have the assessment "close" in the LMS until the selected period of time after the due date.

9. Add Student Names to Downloads. Clicking "Yes" will automatically add student names to files they download from assessments. This helps them find their particular files in the "Downloads" folder on shared computers.

10. Allow Study Notebook. Instructors can choose to disable the "Study Notebook", which compiles student notes and highlights into one place on the MyEducator system.

*When enabled, instructors can decide which groups will be allowed to see another group's note and highlights by checking the corresponding boxes.

11. Save. Don't forget to save if you have made changes while visiting the "Settings" page in MyEducator.

Happy Studying!
